How to Resolve "Relay Denied" Errors

A "Relay Denied" error message / bounce back message indicates that SMTP Authentication is not enabled in the email program or device used to send the email.

AdvisorEmail requires SMTP Authentication for email accounts hosted on our servers.

If you are currently receiving this error message, please ensure that all of the following settings are in place in your email program or device.

Depending on the device, you may not be presented with all the settings. However, where available, the settings on your device or email program must match the ones below.

Appropriate email account settings

Username: Your full email address
Password: Password for the email address
Incoming mail server: mail.advisoremail.com or mail.mailforbusiness.com
Outgoing mail server: mail.advisoremail.com or mail.mailforbusiness.com
SMTP Authentication: Required and/or Set to Password (this is not optional)
SMTP/Outgoing Port #: 587, or 2525 (port 25 is available but not recommended)
